Court Bilbrey LCSW is now Expansive Therapy Collective
Dear clients and colleagues,
I’m excited to share some news with you: my practice, formerly and creatively named Courtney Bilbrey LCSW, is now Expansive Therapy Collective. Emily McAfee (former sex therapy trainee, now full-time therapist and clinical operations manager!) and I are expanding our services and support to a wider community, creating a more sustainable, effective, and client-responsive practice. In addition to changing a few policies and session lengths, we are also expanding to (hopefully next month) accept some Medicaid clients, and we will continue to expand sliding scale support, group therapy, and professional training offerings. This will make us one of the few Colorado sex therapy practices serving a wider socioeconomic range.
What’s Changing?
Our new name: Expansive Therapy Collective
Emily McAfee will be joining the practice as a full-time Therapist & Clinical Operations Manager

Session times:
Court Bilbrey LCSW- currently has a waitlist for new clients
Note: In order to offer the most attentive client care, Court’s session times are changing:
Individual sessions - 45 minutes (rate remains the same, shortened time by 5 min)
$235
Relationship/couples sessions - 75 minutes
$400
Note: Due to the intensive nature of couples therapy and the current flexibility to operate without insurance constraints, Court is transitioning to 75-minute sessions for couples. This change allows for deeper, more meaningful work, as 50-minute sessions often feel abrupt and insufficient. Additionally, extending the session length can reduce the total number of sessions needed. Many couples find that one longer session every other week is more productive, providing ample time to reflect and work on their connection at home in between sessions. I recommend that couples reserve 75 minutes for themselves during the off-weeks to maintain continuity and progress.
If 75-minute couples sessions are financially challenging, please consider the following options and contact Court to discuss:
Continue with 50-minute sessions: Current couples may keep their recurring 50-minute appointments, but these slots will not be available for online booking. To schedule these recurring 50-minute sessions, please arrange them in advance with Court. Appointments should be consistent (weekly or every other week), rather than sporadic.
Come less frequently - if you’re weekly, I’d rather you go every other week and save money/experience longer sessions
Discuss sliding scale options for 75 min with Court directly
Emily McAfee - has openings on Tuesday through Thursday, evenings included!)
Individual sessions (non-EMDR)- 50 minutes
$130
Individual sessions (EMDR)- 50 minutes
$150
Relationship/couples sessions- 50 minutes
$150
Some sliding scale sessions are available.
What’s Staying the Same?
Your therapist and our willingness to continue supporting you

About Emily McAfee, SW-C
Emily is a queer, neurodivergent therapist who I am so excited to be bringing into my practice as a full-time therapist. She loves working with individuals, couples and groups. As a recent graduate with a year of sex and couples therapy experience, Emily brings extensive new information and techniques to her work. Some of her specialties in work with clients include gender & sexuality exploration, polyamory, non-monogamy, & “opening-up” a relationship, unpacking religious messages and healing religious trauma, rebuilding trust in relationships, and addressing low or mismatched sexual desire (when more desire is wanted).
With personal and professional experience with size and body stigma, Emily is passionate about working with clients to explore and unpack societal messaging about bodies and how they are “supposed” to look, act, and take up space. Emily is very knowledgeable about the ways that messages about bodies are impacted by gender, sexuality, race, and ability, and loves to share this information with clients to facilitate impactful discussions, realizations, and healing. I am very excited to bring Emily’s expertise in the area of body image to this practice, and encourage you to reach out to her if you feel you could benefit from this service.
Emily is currently engaged in intensive training and practicum for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and we are excited to offer this treatment modality to both new and current clients of our practice at a time-limited rate of $90 per session (up to 12 sessions) for folks with financial need (sliding scale). (Often 6-12 sessions are needed.) The full rate per session is $150. (The average cost of this therapy in Denver, Colorado is $200+ per session.) EMDR therapy helps heal trauma and reduce the disturbance experienced when remembering traumatic events by changing how these memories are stored in the brain. This can lessen negative reactions to trauma triggers and allow clients to live with less anxiety, fear, and distress.
If you are a current individual or couple therapy client who would like to schedule an EMDR session with Emily, please email her at emily@expansivetherapycollective.com or call/text 720-764-9306.

Scheduling Requests
As a reminder, you can schedule, reschedule, or cancel your own sessions using the Book Now link on our website, or by following this (new) link: https://expansivetherapycollective.clientsecure.me.
You can also direct any questions and complicated or last-minute scheduling requests to info@expansivetherapycollective.com. Please direct all scheduling requests to this email or text 720-764-9306; all clinical or other requests can be communicated directly to the therapist you’re working with.
When your therapist is out of the office with advance notice, you will receive an email (or text) notification. If the therapist cancels at the last minute (due to illness or family emergency), we will text, email, or call you. Generally, if you don’t already have a regularly scheduled appointment series, you can rebook your appointment online, or your therapist will suggest another time.
Emily and I feel deeply honored to be entrusted with your relationships, struggles, and joys, and we look forward to continuing to work with you under our new name. If you have any questions or require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
With deep care for each of you,
Court Bilbrey, LCSW
