LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

I understand the unique challenges and experiences that LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples may face in their lives and relationships. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and affirming environment where you can explore your identity, navigate relationship dynamics, and cultivate resilience and well-being. I specialize in LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy, which means I affirm and celebrate diverse identities and relationships without judgment or bias. I recognize the importance of cultural competence, ongoing education, and allyship in providing effective therapy for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples.

Individual Therapy

My individual therapy sessions provide a confidential space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to explore their unique experiences, challenges, and goals. Whether you're navigating coming out, exploring your gender identity, coping with discrimination, or seeking support for mental health concerns, I am here to help you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

Couples Therapy

I offer couples therapy for LGBTQIA+ couples at all stages of their relationship journey. Whether you're seeking support for communication issues, navigating conflicts, exploring open relationships, or strengthening your bond, I am dedicated to helping you build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Gender Affirming Therapy

I have experience and expertise in providing gender affirming therapy for transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming individuals. I offer support for gender exploration, transition-related issues, accessing gender-affirming healthcare, and navigating the challenges of living authentically in a cisnormative society.

NOTE: I am experienced in writing WPATH letters that allow clients to access gender-affirming care/surgery. I recognize the issues and frustration caused by therapists and mental health providers gatekeeping these services, and I am dedicated to understanding your needs and wants, upholding your bodily autonomy, and helping you access the gender-affirming care that you deserve.

Family Therapy

I offer family therapy sessions for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families to navigate issues related to coming out, family acceptance, communication breakdowns, and building stronger, more supportive relationships.

Some common issues that I see in individuals and couples seeking supportive therapy are:

  • Identity exploration/Coming out

  • Working out internalized bias/homophobia/transphobia/shame

  • Relationship issues (romantic, sexual, family of origin)

  • Navigating conflict

  • Coping with stress

  • Healing from trauma related to sexuality, gender, and religious background

  • Improving sex & sexual communication

  • Needing WPATH letters to access gender affirming care

Intersectionality

I recognize and honor the intersectionality of identities and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community, including race, ethnicity, religion, disability, body size, and socioeconomic status. While I will focus on YOU, know that I will not ignore the impact of generational and community trauma and oppression.
